Our virtual book club is low stress and at your own pace. Join us on the Fable app for chapter discussions, death talk, community and friendship! Free to join. All are welcome.

Our first book is Briefly Perfectly Human by Alua Arthur- a memoir that uses the author's experience as a death doula to explore how confronting mortality can lead to a more authentic and fulfilling life. The book blends personal stories, including her career change from lawyer to death doula, with case studies of her clients, offering wisdom on end-of-life planning, emotional preparation, and finding meaning in the face of death. It reframes death not as an end to be feared, but as a natural part of the human experience that can illuminate what truly matters in life.

HI! I’M PERI. I’M GLAD YOU’RE HERE.

I started this community with the goal of giving people a safe space to explore topics around death and dying. Death is not a topic that everyone is comfortable talking about. But you know what makes it a little easier? Donuts.

Death & Donuts is a come as-you-are, judgement-free zone where curiosity, kindness and respect always take center stage. My hope is that this community takes on a life of its own – that it becomes a place where friendships are created and new perspectives emerge.
